Atlanta’s First Black Girl Book Fair Debuts Outside Brave + Kind Bookshop
A Celebration of Black Women-Owned Bookstores, Literature, and Culture

Atlanta, GA – – Atlanta’s literary landscape is about to make history with the first-ever Black Girl Book Fair, a vibrant pop-up celebration of books, culture, and community, taking place outside Brave + Kind Bookshop. Hosted by six Black-owned, women-led bookstores from Atlanta, Decatur, and surrounding cities, this one-of-a-kind event brings together literature lovers, Black-owned businesses, and a true book fair atmosphere.
Set against the backdrop of music, storytelling, and joy, the Black Girl Book Fair will feature an incredible lineup of booksellers, including:

Beyond books, the event will also highlight a curated selection of Black-owned vendors, offering everything from candles and vegan nail polish to music and handcrafted goods. The Black Girl Book Fair is more than just a book sale—it’s a movement, a moment, and a celebration of the power of storytelling through a Black lens.
“This is about more than just books. It’s about community, representation, and joy,” says Bunnie Hilliard, owner of Brave + Kind Bookshop. “Atlanta’s Black women-owned bookstores are shaping the literary scene in powerful ways, and this fair is a testament to that.”
